Some respondents attend UM churches but have never become UM members, primarily because of the denomination’s stance on homosexuality.

I am a member of RMN and attended Convo in Seattle, but no longer have any affiliation with any official UM church. I feel that I have gifts to be shared, and want to be part of an accepting, local Methodist church, but I WILL NOT [sic] be part of a group that expects me to hide, lie, and give up my integrity in order to accept my time, talents, and money.
